Blessed is the child of God

Matthew 6:26 says Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? You know, is difficult to trust in that verse when you have to watch your spending and currently I don't even know where to get money for my last year of studies. Moreover, art supplies are really expensive here mind you. I try to get cheaper sketchbooks, paints, pens at Office Depot or Walmart instead of getting from the school art supply store. Bloodsucker man... Even books i am ordering off Amazon to save some $. I am going to apply for work-study this term instead of starting next term. Trying very hard to eat lesser too..haha..less ice creams...hee...

Though i am making an effort to save money here and there, sometimes i will forgot my Jehovah Jireh have been guiding me. Last weekend i nearly buy a mobile plan which is goign to cost around $35 per mth, end up i couldn't purchase it because they need some identity number. I didn't bring out my I20 or visa so am not sure what is needed. I was kinda sad, because i so wanted to get a mobile line that day. After i got home, I check out prepaid pricing and realise is actually much more suitable for me. Pay $100 and it won't expiry till a year later. That's only about $8+ a month!! Thank God I didn't manage to buy the mobile plan eh. I haven't got time to go buy the prepaid phone yet though.

Today i went to Bloodsucker shop to buy rendering markers which i am suppose to buy last week but somehow I didn't manage to. This wednesday will be needing them for class so I have to buy today. HAhaha...Is on sale now! like 1.50 cheaper for each. Drawing pen are goign at 50% cheaper. Phew! That save me quite abit of $. Thank God I didn't buy them last week. Still, i spend near to $50USD. (Art students are meant to starve lar...)

About a month ago, I was looking through craiglist for 2nd hand stuffs. I came across an ad quite a few times. The ad state they are leaving and are selling their TV and many other stuffs. I not sure that night why I would just email that person and ask about the TV, writing table and rice cooker . She replied me and says she is also a Singaporean! She is here with her husband and kids for around 20months already. She is staying in Georgetown. (30mins drive away i think) She even gave birth to a twins here. We been exchanging emails awhile and I call her through skype a couple of time. Today, we finally met. I was so surprise she brought along one of her twin baby and her 4 yr old daughter. They are so adorable!! She brought me the rice cooker, water filter flask, electrical kettle, many other stuffs like cups and utensils and sambal sauce!! I wanted to buy over the stuffs, but end up she most probably going to give me the TV and writing table in Nov when she and her family move back to singapore. We chatted awhile and soon she have to leave, she says will bring me to her place someday before she go back.

Meeting up with fellow singaporean and her family is just so comforting. (Makes me wana cry....sobs...). So thankful that God have brought people along to bless me. I may not be getting huge amount of $ to pay off my school fees and stuffs but many small situation God have bless me and I have save some $. ;) . The sad thing is, I am still spending over what i want to keep within. I hope next month i can spend much lesser. {-_-"}

Trip to Atlanta

Is my 1st trip out to another city in Georgia. Atlanta! It was a 4 hours of ride there which i spend like most of time staring out of the windows looking at trees, trees and tress again. I can't wait to walk up the trail of Stone mountain to see the lovely sight.

We started off going to the JapanFest event held there. (That's what SCAD bring us there for.) We settled down for lunch first and then we walk around abit around the fair. Japanese food are selling at a really steep price, still there is a long line dying to try the food. Saw a few really adorable japanese kids in their traditional costumes. Americans are performing and demostrating some of the japanese stuffs. I don't really like how the whole event is being carried out but i shan't comment. :)

Next, time to head on to what we have plan. Climb Stone mountain! It wasn't a high mountain but enought to see the landscapes across the city. We took around an hour - 2 hours to reach the top. The weather is freaky hot and sunny but ....Arr.... the sense of accomplishment!!! I just love the view, the feeling of a nice work out and the cold coke running down my dry throat. I am so missing the trekking trips. I do hope to camp or trek in the wild soon...hee...

Anyway, check out the pics here ........

Concert @ the park

Was over at Kat&Don's place drinking my tomyam soup and watching abit of TV before heading out. Tibby is a dog...she is not a cat...she just look like one. =P

Saturday SCAD have invited SISTER HAZEL to Forsyth Park. I did't know they were quite a well-know band in the States. Their music is pretty cool. Abit country, easy to listen to. The park was packed. The usual ground where schools practise for their football or a playground for dogs have been transform to a concert ground. See it for yourself. =)

Foood! Glorious food~

Well, just feel to show some pictures uploaded by Don. Hee....i am kind of lazy to upload mine.

Beer in the Rear! Is really eye-opening...Sticking a beer up into the poor chicken and then grill it. On top of that, there are roasted potatoes, dinner roll...and some rice thing (Not sure what you call that. is just simply delicious!)

1st day of school

I step out into the cold, cold rain with my bicycle @ 7.20am. Is the 1st day of school and the rain have welcome me in a pouring manner... Thank God I bought a raincoat yesterday. I was still feeling heartache cause it cost me $29USD. I made full use of it today as it is raining almost the whole day. Fall is coming, the air is turning cooler and drier despite the rain. Is just amazing how the weather changes.

1st day of school is pretty nice. I manage to find the school halls and reach there in 1 piece but cold and drench. In Storyboarding, we learn about 1 point perspective. A 2hr lesson have give me a better understanding of finding horizon level and eye level. Why didn't i figure out when i am in NYP eh? English composition is not really what i expected, is actually much more fun. She made us write things that come into our mind non-stop without thinking for like 5mins. these are some stuffs i wrote:

Rain is cold
I am hungry and i am going to boil potatoes tonight
My mum is funny
I do not know what to write now
I love the beef burgers here
My sandals are still wet
Life is full of excitment, is like packing your bag to go somewhere and you have no idea where you are going.
I need coffee
I am so tired of cooking
I love white daisy
Is getting abit cold here. Where is my jacket?!

You will be surprise of the things you write. As you can see, i am not a very deep person. Haha..some of them wrote such deep stuffs...like "being perfect is being imperfect..."

Well, I already have homeworks to hand in the next lesson. To be honest i am actually quite excited to get it going. The thing is i need to get organise abit. My notes are all in one notebook now..I really ought to sort them out and seperate them into files.

Right, time to go think about my essay...and drawings...woohooo!

My alarm didn't go off at 8.30am. I am suppose to meet my friend Amy at 9am down at Pepe hall to get my bank stuffs. A rush in a morning is always bad for me. I am surpise how fast i can cycle. I woke at 8.55am and i reach at 9.05am. Man did i just fly or God have hold the time?

I rush back hoping i have not missed the DHL delivery. I reach home like by 9.30am...I stepped into my place, the 3 boxes are there. Oh Dear...DHL must have woken up one of my housemates. I start fixing up my Pc and it can't start up! Brought it to Kat & Don place and we figured it could be the voltage convertor not strong enough to run my PC. I have to buy one online and wait another 2 days for delivery. So here goes the waiting game again.

Cut the story short. Orientation have been great fun. Knowing new people from countries i have never hear before and also neighbouring countries like malaysia, thailand and my dear singapore. Also my pc is finally alive! I am not really going share what went wrong, because is such a silly incident. Hahaa...K, Pics will be up soon! N i mean very soon....

Tybee Beach

Yesterday was the 1st international students outing i went. The weather is good, Sun is out! There is suppose to be a hurricane hitting savannah on Thursday, but seems like it turns to a tropical storm when it reach here. Thursday was raining quite abit, so yesterday the sky is pretty clear~ :)

Met up with a few new students. I only remember a few. My housemate is there too! I didn't know she was one of the new students too. Blur me. :P We took a around 45mins ride to reach tybee beach. Is a wide beach, not clear blue ones...but is clean, but i think the sand gives the sea a muddy kinda look. (Will post pics soon!) So there i go floating on mini waves, I tink having a small surfboard will be fun! After i realise i was out in sun for too long, i hide on to the shade and looks at guys surfing...hur hur...*Ahem*...I mean looking at the nice waves... =P Later on i join in with others playing frisbee and beach volleyball! Aww..i miss that...I hade fun~ The tide is coming in pretty quick, soon we are like playing with sea water covering our feet.

After a good play, is time to eat! We head on to Spanky. I had a 6 piece chicken fillets basket. I was so full, i had to keep giving away my spuds (deep fried potato) to Kat and Don...haha...I didnt had dinner after that. I guess i am goign to have 2 meals a day from now onwards! A good breakfast and a nice luciner(Lunch and dinner combi). Partly also because i am pretty lazy to cook lar. =P
